June 8th is World Oceans Day! The ExpressMed head office is located in San Diego, only 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Naturally, protecting the oceans and environment is a part of our company practices. Not only does it guide our company, but it's a way of life for our staff!
In case you didn't know how we are doing our part, here are some ocean-friendly practices we follow.
Central Thermostat and Motion Sensor Lights
Many businesses have their doors open every day, but our offices are only open for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. That means we don’t keep the lights and air conditioning on 24/7!
Most companies recycle and we are no different in our dedication to reducing waste. We have recycling options for all types of recyclable products throughout our office building.
Reusable Water Bottles and Coffee Cups
It's easy to stop by the local coffee shop on the way to work, but we are passionate about our local ocean! To do our part, we have adopted brewing coffee here at the office to reduce cup waste. In addition to that, we installed a water filtration system so our staff can keep hydrated while cutting down on plastic bottles!
No Store Front
The reason we are able to close our office in the evenings and on weekends is because all your shopping is online! Without a storefront, we don't have to offer plastic bags and paper receipts that harm ocean life.
The communication between our staff and you is completely paper free. We don’t send paper receipts or catalogs, and we only accept electronic payment. When your package arrives, we only include the necessary paperwork to cut down on paper waste!
Ocean Friendly Products
We carry thousands of medical products that make your life easier, including a wide selection of ocean safe sunscreen! Did you know not all sunscreens are safe for the ocean? Check out a few options that are fish approved:
Ocean Potion Protect and Nourish Sunscreen with SPF 70
Alba Botanica Sport Sunscreen SPF 45
